Understand what u are saying and it will be hard to make them accountable but their love of the media limelight tells me they want to be appreciated and their actions this week we’re very defensive. Fan unrest seems to get to them. They need to invest more into the underlying infrastructure and realise it takes more than one season of a higher spend to build a squad. The protest will help I suspect but it’s sad it takes that to get them to act.

You rightly said the 10 point pledge was something they should have not signed up to but they did and they are actually being. Ade accountable.

I doff my cap to Hammers United using facts and truth as a stick to get at them with

Re: 10 Years of nothing
Fact is the club was in an awful state when they took it on and they have turned it round into a nice little earner for themselves. They have been successful in turning round a shambolic business but unsuccessful in understanding the modern day business of football, the culture and needs of supporters and implementing building blocks to improve the club in the future.

It's all about money and value. They cannot understand the value in changes like a paid scouting network, state of the art training facilities, improved club structure, and buying/paying the modern day footballer. They are still operating a model from 25 years ago.

Re: 10 Years of nothing
I don't think anybody minds buying the merchandise as long as they feel that the club is trying to do things in the correct/progressive manner.

There are plenty of talented young designers who could put a spin on our colours and come up with something good but our owners are all about the lowest common denominator. It will be the cheapest materials and quality they can get away with and they sell it at the maximum price possible.

On the rare occasion they decide to spend some money the final result is often chintzy and pretty vulgar - just like them.

This manifests itself in all areas of the club from the top down. All we all should know all successful clubs (even businesses) should be built from the bottom up.

We're stuck with these cunts until they can sell the stadium on for a massive profit.

Until then just sit back, relax pour yourselves a glass of brandy and smoke a cigar - because that is precisely what GSB are doing.

Re: 10 Years of nothing
GSB are too arrogant to accept fault. The club is there's not yours. As Brady says it's not like having a product, yet they sell West Ham as a product and reap the reward.

The quality of the product is irrelevant as you will buy regardless.
You can't return the product so no issue there.

Here is a business with no comeback to the owners. It's all about whether they give up, which they want. This is there money making machine and you will buy.

As fans they will argue they have as much right as you too, as they also want success yet it eats in to their money.
Wealth outweighs loyalty and that is what we have as owners.

Re: 10 Years of nothing
Alf,
The move was always going to be contentious for some of the old guard regardless of any supposed lies. Some people just don’t like change.
I went to UP for many years and latterly with my boy but can honestly say the move, for me, has been ok. In actual fact the whole matchday experience is better but again this is selfish to me.
Not sure how you hope to hold Sullivan and Co accountable? What do you want them to do now? There mistake was actually providing a 10 point plan and if they have any sense they won’t do that again. If they say nothing they will face different issues and are somewhat damned either way.
I don’t particularly like them, I detest the way they crave the limelight like no other chairmen. Gold with the same old dithery spiel of living on Green St winds me right up to be honest. Wish they would just shut up and Communicate from the club like others do.
I do t get the loss of identity, I remember West Ham from my memories over the years and don’t let my vitriol of dislike to the owners cloud this.
The property deal presented itself, like it did at Man City, accepted on a different level. The Liverpool owners have done the same with property around Anfied. Owners do not get into these clubs to spend all of there own money and to end up skint. Why would they? Would you?
People moaning about loans to the club but how else should it be financed? Would a loan from somewhere else be more palatable? In the end what difference does it make if Natwest give the club money or they do?
I feel some supporters have lost sight of reality, have let a sense of football romance and emotions take over.
If as everyone feels that they are here for the short term to fatten the goose for the sale then surely we should be happy they will be gone in a couple of years and then let’s see what the new owners will bring to the table. In my mind it will be more of the same. West Ham fans have always hated their owners of the club and this stretched back years and years with maybe a short spell with the Icelandic’s where they didn’t have enough time for us to dislike them as they went skint and screwed us a different way.

From the title of the thread I thought this was going to be another political bore fest - this time concerning the Tory Party.

It is uncanny though how the leadership of our club who are unashamed dyed in the wall Thatcherites has mirrored the last 10 years of the state of the nation.

Al mate

The difference is the expectations the owners set to ensure there was no strong resistance to a move of stadium that disenfranchised a section of the fanbase and have contributed to a loss of identity as a club many fans held dear ( memories of times at UP with fathers , grandfathers mates etc).

The owners wanted the property deal that UP represented. Look at their business history. They made their initial wealth from porn but most their money comes from property dealings.

They at best stretched the truth about the stadium but really lied about sight lines, transport such was their desperation for the move and the money they could make.

The deal was the 10 point pledge, taking the club to a new , better level which for many is just about not being in relegation trouble every season.

They need to be made accountable.

Can someone tell me what other clubs of our size and stature have achieved in the last 10 years?
Other than Man City, Chelsea, Spurs even and more recently Liverpool what success stories have there been? Leicester a fluke a few years back albeit making some progress again but Man U, Arsenal etc have gone backwards.
The likes of Everton, Palace, Newcastle is ho are similar clubs have achieved what in the last 10 years?
I really don’t understand what you expect from West Ham? It’s been the same for as far back as I can remember and will be in my lifetime.
Some of you need to face facts and get a fucking grip on reality!

We are undoubtedly in a far better position than when they bought us - but very limited results on the pitch. We should be knocking on the door of the top six but instead we seem to be middle table one year, flirting with relegation the next.
